Today: The Raconteurs @ Terminal 5: Jack White and his rock troupe perform their first of three consecutive sold out nights at the massive venue. Retro-punks The Black Lips open.
Apes and Androids @ Bowery Ballroom: This is one of those shows where you can know 0 about the band, yet still be fully entertained by the performance. Theatric rock at its finest.
Wire @ South Street Sea Port: The legendary punks (these guys have been around since 1976!) rock the downtown seaport with a free show.
Tomorrow: Fiasco @ Jamaica Bay Park: Fiasco joins some of the best hipster experimental bands for this free outdoor festival. Also performing: Aa, Knyf Hyts, USAisMonster and a handful of others.
Duran Duran @ Rumsey Playfield: One of the seminal groups in synth-based dance pop take over Central Park. They’ll be playing tunes from their 2007 album, while their crowd chants “Hungry Like a Wolf.”
Stereo Total @ Gowanus Canal: It doesn’t matter if you can’t understand what these German pop punks are saying — their tunes will get you dancing.
